Chocolate-Covered Baloney: Confessions of April Grace

I loved this book! This book is great for young to young adult girls. This book is the third book in the Confessions of April Grace book series, written by KD McCrite.

In this third book, April Grace gets to bring her new little baby brother home. His name is Michael Eli Reilly, Eli for short. When April and her sister Myra Sue get of the bus one day April starts heading towards the mailbox, when Myra Sue practically tramples her to get there first. That is just one of the many strange things that Myra Sue has been up to lately. When its time for her grandmother's birthday the Reilly family, and pretty much the whole town, wants to throw her a surprise party. So, April Grace has to get her grandmother out of the house for a few hours so her mother and Isabel, her neighbor, can set up the party. After they get home and the party has been going on for a little while a long-lost relative suddenly shows up and crashes the party. April's long-lost relative wore a purple cowboy hat, her hair was the color of Heinz ketchup stirred up with Welch's grape jelly, her face was as wrinkled and crispy as wadded-up sandpaper, she wore orangey-red lipstick, she wore bright-red cowboy boots, and if you're like a million years old you should not wear miniskirts, even if you're wearing a frontier jacket with a long fringe on it that comes past the skirt's hem. The fringe did not cover up her bony white knees though. April Grace doesn't know if things can get any worse, but then Isabel becomes her new gym teacher and on top of it all Myra Sue goes missing! Can April get her sister back and bond with her long-lost relative before its too late?

I received this book for review purposes through the Booksneeze book review program.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions are my own.

Cliques, Hicks, and Ugly Sticks: Confessions of April Grace

#2: Cliques, Hicks, and Ugly Sticks

This book was outstanding! This book is great for young to young adult girls. This is the second book in the Confessions of April Grace series, written by KD McCrite.

In this second book, April Grace is having a tough time adjusting to sixth grade, her first year of middle school. Everyone is pushing them and calling them names. They have to watch out for the cliques that they run across, and try to understand algebra at the same time, which is not always easy to do. Plus she has to be in a church Christmas pageant run by Isabel St. James. When her grandmother gets stuck in a love triangle and her mother goes to the hospital things really start to get out of whack. Then when everything starts to settle April mother reveals what's going and April Grace and her sister Myra Sue are shocked. They had never expected that!
